Using an MDT approach facilitates collaboration and reduces the duplication of efforts. This approach has been shown to save $1318 per investigation. We accomplish this by:
- Facilitating a more immediate follow-up by the MDT to child abuse reports
- Facilitating medical and mental health referrals for a more efficient response
- Reducing the number of duplicative child victim interviews
- Strengthening cases for successful prosecution
- Providing specialized training and education opportunities for professionals involved in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse
